Tutor Bio:
Elaine graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a degree in Psychology and a non-degree, but a very large interest in, Mathematics (they don’t have minors at Brown!). She’s been teaching for over 10 years (SAT/LSAT/GMAT/GRE and academic tutoring) and has helped literally hundreds of students get into college, business school, law school, and graduate school. Students range from those who are still in high school to those who are looking to transition to a new career.

The best part about a standardized test is that it doesn’t matter where you start; it is conquerable because it is predictable. In test preparation, Elaine helps the student focus on improving skills that might be rusty (like math or grammar rules) and also on learning strategies to help move through the test faster. A study plan will be customized to focus on a particular part of the test, to augment either skills or strategy, or to do it all! In academic tutoring, Elaine helps the student identify problem areas quickly and attack them strategically in order to keep up with the class and achieve the grade he/she wants. She is available for in-home tutoring or location of your choice in the greater Los Angeles area.
