Tutor Bio:
I began conducting research since the age of fourteen, in high school as a volunteer in a Genetic Epidemiology laboratory at the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. Since then, I have continued to pursue my interest in the sciences and have went through great lengths to succeed. I remember the stress and pressures of taking the SAT myself, and would like to help a younger generation succeed by passing on my knowledge. The reason why I would like to become involved as a teacher or administrator is because I feel blessed that I was exposed to the sciences and research at an early age. That gave me direction as to where I wanted to go in my career early on. I want other students to have that same sense of direction, support and exploration of their career options out there. Helping younger kids find their way would be the first step. And education paves that path. I definitely see teaching and education in my future, and I strongly believe that experience with this position will help me get a feel for what it is like to teach and mentor.
In college, I was involved in a few student organizations on campus and have held respectable positions, including being President of my sorority, Sigma Omicron Pi. I am definitely an approachable person, one that is easy to work with, understanding of others, but at the same time facilitative and responsible. I believe these are good traits that may qualify me to work with younger children.
In addition, I possess a number of other skills required for the classroom environment such as good organizational, managerial and maintenance skills, team spirit and work independence. I am also ambitious and very hard working. I believe my background, education, experience and dedication would make me an asset to your program.
