Tutor Bio:
Amelia has a passion for teaching and for learning. She grew up in a household of English teachers and loves following that example. She has a B.A. and an M.A. in English. Her top priority is always making the student(s) feel comfortable enough to ask questions, make mistakes, and triumph in accomplishing goals. She loves working with students of all ages and backgrounds; she has experience with almost every type of student, including those with ADHD, dyslexia, minor autism, and an abundance of emotions and energy.

Amelia has tutored in almost every subject - including Latin, biology, French, all aspects of English, math, earth science, history, and clarinet. Her favorite subject is English (history is a close second!) but feels comfortable teaching all subject matters below the high school Freshman level. From then on up, she feels most comfortable with English, History, and the clarinet.

She prefers tutoring in libraries or mutually agreed public locations (such as Starbucks), but has done in-home tutoring before. She has worked with students individually and in classrooms. Her love of teaching, learning, and children helps her tailor her teaching methods to the need of every diverse individual student.
