Tutor Bio:
Tara is a local English tutor who holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from the University of Alabama, where she taught undergraduate Composition, Literature, and Creative Writing classes for several years, and for which she received the university’s Outstanding Teaching Award, an honor that is based on student, faculty, and peer evaluations. Always dedicated to helping her students succeed, she works with them to find ways to make their assignments engaging—reading texts and writing about ideas is not only empowering, but supposed to be fun!

She brings a lot of passion and experience to her instruction, and looks forward to helping students improve their critical thinking skills and discover their writerly points of view. Her fields of expertise include American and British Literatures; Compositions and Essays; Fiction and Non-Fiction Writing; Poetry; Literary Theory and Terms; Grammar; Punctuation; AP English; SAT Essay Writing; SAT Subject Test in Literature.
