We tutor the Greater Los Angeles area, providing private, in-home tutoring and academic consultation for those teachers looking to attain a credential in the subject they are looking to teach. Our CSET tutors are available to assist students with all facets of the test. Our local tutors use a combination of proprietary test taking methods to make the test "easy as 123!". Passing The CSET For each subtest, raw scores are converted to a scale of 100-300, with 220 representing the minimum passing score for a given subtest. Passing scores must be used toward certification within five years. After that, the test would need to be re-taken. -
Scoring The CSET Because the raw scores are scaled, there is no absolute way to convert raw scores on a practice test. You receive your official score six weeks after taking the test. Overall Score: 70% weight to Multiple Choice and 30% weight to Constructed Responses. Constructed Response questions are graded on a four point scale, 0-3. A Rule of Thumb is you need about 60% for the Multiple Choice sections and a "2" on Constructed Response questions to pass.

Timing The CSET
Each testing session is five hours in length. You may choose to take up to three CSET subtests per session. Individual subtests are not timed and it is up to the student to allocate their time accordingly during the five hours.
