I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, which helped to expose myself to people of various walks of life. I am keen on supporting and protecting the environment and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I am a graduate of Kenyon College and studied Biochemistry and Humanities Studies. When I am not tutoring, I enjoy taking my dog to the dog park, hiking, yoga, meditation and singing to my heart’s content. I am also an occasional thespian, filmmaker and writer.
My Teaching Experience
I have been tutoring and teaching for over three years, working with kids in the first grade level, up to college students. I recently moved back to the U.S. from Thessaloniki, Greece, where I had the opportunity to work as a science educator and coordinator. My main focuses are the sciences and math, but I am also well experienced in writing, reading and literary/script analysis.
My Teaching Style
I love science and math, and it is my goal to help my students find how and why these subjects apply to their lives, thus creating solid interest. I utilize supportive tools such as whiteboards, informative videos, real world examples and tactile activities to allow my students a better grasp of the subject material. I foster a supportive environment for my students to feel comfortable with making mistakes in order to learn from them and succeed.
