I am very passionate about communication and the Spanish culture and language. While at Knox College, I double-majored in Education and Spanish, and also studied theatre. I was fortunate enough to study abroad for a year in Barcelona, Spain; and Buenos Aires, Argentina. While abroad, not only did I master the Castilian language, but I also learned about the importance of connecting with others. In an ever-changing education system, having knowledge of the diversities around us is indispensable.
My Teaching Experience
I taught Spanish and Theatre Arts at Oswego High School (OHS) in Oswego, Illinois where I was also the Drama Club sponsor. While studying education, I observed many diverse classrooms of different grades and ability levels. During my summers, I also taught at various summer camps, including a second grade classroom for the City of Aurora and a theatre class for Autistic and Downs Syndrome children in Naperville.
My Teaching Style
I integrate my knowledge of education, along with my theatrical background to make learning enjoyable for my students.
