About Me

I grew up in the city of Princeton, NJ, as well as attended Princeton University where I received a Bachelor of Arts in English. I then completed the graduate program at the A.R.T. Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University. For more than twenty years I’ve been a tutor, I’ve also been a professional actor, performing on TV, film and, most often, as a resident artist with A Noise Within, Pasadena’s classical theater company. I also volunteer as a head mentor for Young Storytellers.

My Teaching Experience

I previously taught for Stanley Kaplan, as well as The Princeton Review, where I helped write manuals for various standardized tests. My many years of working with all levels of students have provided me with great insight into how to bring out the best in a student, no matter the level. Most of my students have increased their scores significantly, improved their grades substantially and gone on to attend the best schools in the country.

My Teaching Style

As a professional actor on television and on the stage, I am able to communicate with clarity, efficiency, and levity when needed. My unique approach never fails to bring out the best in my students. I’m most proud of minimizing the “dread effect” when it comes to standardized tests. Having faced that fear myself as a student, I’ve steadily developed the ability to improve both a student’s attitude and aptitude.
