ABOUT ME

I’m originally from the small town of Port Tobacco, MD. I was eager to get closer to New York so I attended Syracuse University and graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in Musical Theater. Currently, I’m pursuing a Masters in Counseling Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, CA. I’ve been in Los Angeles since 2011 and now it feels like a second home.  I love traveling, cooking, watching movies, and going to the beach.

MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a tutor for nearly 10 years working for numerous competitive companies. I’ve been a teacher since 2012, previously managing the Acting and Musical Theater department for the UCLA Summer Program and working with UCLA’s Lab School teaching young kids acting. Over the last few years, I have had the privilege of working with students from ages 4-18 to accomplish their academic goals. I know how best to tailor a session in order to see my students succeed. Every child has specific gifts and it’s my responsibility to help them find and hone those skills. Many of my students go on to their top choice schools and show an increase in their academic achievements–GPA, work ethic, and time management skills.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am all about encouragement and organization. I always plan out the session with the students before we begin so they can make the most educated choices on how to tackle their work. This allows students to take ownership of the work and the method used to get there. I genuinely want to see my students improve and develop a desire to learn. I focus on positive reinforcement and insist students find their academic voice.
