I grew up in New Jersey near the beach. Spending time at the beach is my favorite thing to do if I’m not home watching movies, reading, or cooking. My favorite food is pizza. I love trying new iterations of pizza. I also love to travel.

ABOUT ME
MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1985 with a BA in English. A few years later, I went on to Kean University to get my teaching credentials. In 2018, I received 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education from Rasmussen College. In New Jersey, I served as an elementary school, general education teacher for 20 years. Since moving to Los Angeles, I have worked with children in grades ranging from Preschool to 8th grade. I’ve worked as a one on one teacher, an assistant teacher, and in my current position, I serve as a paraprofessional, special education teacher for the Santa Monica Unified School District.
MY TEACHING STYLE
When I begin tutoring a student, I first work on building a rapport with the student. I want the student to feel comfortable with me. I also want the student to build a sense of confidence in their abilities. I use a lot of praise. My strategy is to build on what they are already know, challenging them.
