Growing up in suburban Massachusetts, I learned quite early the value of a good education. After graduating from Wesleyan, I wanted to give back by inspiring children and adults with the same joy of learning I feel. Plus it was the Great Recession, and education is always hiring. When I’m not trying to motivate students, I enjoy writing, am a not-so-bad baker, and am a firm believer in the Oxford comma.
MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Since 2008, I have been teaching and tutoring from New York to California in cramped studio apartments to spacious private college classrooms. I have worked with all kinds of populations, from adults accepted into the nations top business universities to kindergarten students trying to learn the alphabet. I have also written and edited numerous text books on the GMAT, GRE, SAT, ACT, SSAT, and ISEE.
MY TEACHING STYLE
I believe that every student needs an individualized approach to help them achieve their goals. It’s important for a tutor to understand each student’s learning style and have a mastery of the subject area to best facilitate a student’s growth.
