PSAT/SAT

A high-stakes standardized test for high-school students applying to four-year universities. The SAT consists of multiple-choice sections in reading, writing, and mathematics, along with a free-response essay. The PSAT, a slightly shorter “preliminary SAT,” is used by the National Merit program for awarding scholarships.
