General education requirements are accompanied by courses that allow students to delve more deeply into a field of their choosing by taking concentration courses and advanced courses within or across disciplines. Advanced courses allow students to move at an accelerated pace and often demand additional work by examining the methodologies within the particular field or discipline of the course. Most advanced classes have prerequisites, which may include departmental approval.
