At Milken Community School, we think education is more than what you know. Our School, founded on Jewish values, is about who our children can become and how they can help others become who they might be. Because the world our children will create tomorrow is born in the School we build today, our mission is to educate our children so they can surpass us.
At Milken, we believe every student is a unique, developing, and growing individual. Our dynamic curriculum allows them to pursue diverse passions as they prepare to share their gifts with the world. At the end of their Milken journeys, our students are ready to embrace their futures and contribute to their communities.
We look forward to connecting with you! Visit milkenschool.org to register for upcoming admission events.
We teach students to innovate and explore; overcome obstacles, savor successes and soak up the experiences along the way. Learning is responsive and adaptive at Milken, with curriculum designed to engage each student’s interests and ambitions.
Innovative, creative, curious, caring about making a difference in the world, critical thinker, community-minded, giving and rooted in tradition and Jewish values.
A highlight of the Milken Middle School experience, X-Projects are high-caliber, open-ended explorations of real-world issues as seen through the lenses of
entrepreneurship, innovation, and design. X-Projects are part of our popular X-Learning program, blending traditional and progressive teaching practices to encourage students to link learning to their specific interests. Many X-Projects are created in our Middle School Idea Lab, home of digital design and fabrication tools such as 3-D printers and laser cutters. Our Upper School is home to the Guerin Family Institute and Fab Lab, a popular place for student exploration and invention, including robotics and fabrication courses. Students also have the opportunity to engage in our Architecture+Design Institute, preparing students with a solid foundation in product and structural design, the Beit Midrash Fellowship to advance Jewish learning and social justice; and the Tiferet Israel Fellowship for 10th graders to study abroad in Israel.
Milken also offers popular electives and after-school activities including athletics, finance and entrepreneurship courses, performing arts, music, advanced sciences, and visual arts and graphic design programs.
A wide variety of AP courses are offered: AP Literature, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, AP Macro-Economics, and Micro-Economics, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP Computer Science, AP Comparative Government, AP Government, AP Psychology, AP World History, AP Studio Art: 2D Design, AP Latin, AP Spanish
