The school attracts students who are driven to learn because the school cultivates critical thinking and independence. The colleges and universities graduates attend reflect the selectivity and variety expected from one of LA’s finest independent schools.
We pride ourselves on providing students with a challenging and engaging college preparatory high school experience. The founders’ vision was to tap into the diversity of Los Angeles to bring together students who could learn from each other the skills and attitudes necessary for global citizenship. Students come from over 60 different zip codes and 80 sending schools. Vistamar looks for independent thinkers who are unafraid to challenge the status quo. The types of students who work hard in high school but place equal value on living healthy and balanced lives.
We focus on teaching students how to think, not what to think.
