I grew up in Beijing and now live in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I am completing my PhD remotely, doing computational biophysics research. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, crafting, and going to the gym.

ABOUT ME
MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have over 10 years of experience tutoring physics and math at high school and college levels. At the University of Washington, I served as Head TA and earned a teaching award for my work in large introductory physics courses. I have also taught community college introductory physics courses. As a tutor, I have helped students improve their scores and confidence; some have gone from failing to acing courses, or from doing ok to able to teach other people. I love working through challenging concepts with students of different backgrounds, and in some cases, helping them to overcome mental barriers and see how powerful physics and math can be!
MY TEACHING STYLE
I enjoy helping students push their understanding to the next level, whether they have gaps in background knowledge, a different learning style from their instructor, or questions that go beyond their course requirements. I encourage students to verbalize their understanding, follow through on ideas, and develop their intuition. I fill in gaps in knowledge, demonstrate problem setup and problem solving strategies, and share test taking tips based on course materials.
