ABOUT ME

I was born in San Francisco and my family relocated to Pacific Palisades when I was seven. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, and I am set to graduate in December of 2023. As part of my internship, I was the school counselor at a private high school. My hobbies include martial arts, Spanish, surfing and music. I play multiple instruments and hold a degree in Jazz Performance from USC’s Flora L. Thornton School of Music. I compose original music, some of which has been featured in network television programs such as NBC’s “Parenthood” and Hallmark Channel’s “A Family Thanksgiving.”

MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have 12 years of teaching experience in the greater Los Angeles area with extensive experience in writing, SAT, ACT, ISEE and SSAT. In addition to standardized tests, I tutor students K-12 academically, with the majority of my clients as younger students K-8. We work not only on receiving an excellent grade, but also on instilling good study habits, time management skills, and an ability to work independently. My high school students, most of whom started with average standardized test scores, have been accepted to elite universities such as University of Pennsylvania, UCLA, Boston University, USC, Northeastern, UC Berkeley and many others.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My success as a tutor is enhanced by the rapport I build with my students and the creativity I exercise to suit each student’s personal learning style. I possess a keen intuition and ability to articulate complex subjects with ease and clarity. Because of my broad interests and talents, I have much to offer my students beyond boosting their test scores; I serve as a role model, advocate and coach to help my students identify their personal and academic strengths.
