ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Los Angeles, I was inspired by this city’s vibrant music scene at a young age. When I first picked up the guitar in middle school, I knew it would be my lifelong passion. I played in various rock bands throughout my teenage and young adult years, performing at Dodgers Stadium, Universal City Walk, Whisky A Go-Go, and more. After graduating from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s of music in classical guitar performance, I went on to earn a master’s of fine arts in guitar performance from The California Institute of the Arts. Along the way, I began teaching students who wanted to form and hone their guitar playing skills in classical, rock and everything in between. When I’m not working or practicing, I’m trying out new recipes or exploring all of Los Angeles’ amazing restaurants.

MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I’ve been teaching students guitar, ukulele and general music theory for almost a decade. My vast experience and education in many facets of guitar playing have helped me become a better tutor. I am able to understand on a deeper level what my students’ goals are, and how to best achieve them. Whether they are looking to learn classical, jazz or rock guitar, or simply want to perform a few of their favorite songs, I develop individualized lesson plans to meet their needs.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in forming lasting, genuine relationships with my students, built on a foundation of trust and empathy. I make sure motivation stays high and progress is recognized, so they can enjoy the learning journey. Music is an exhilarating way to express creativity, and I find it rewarding to empower my students in their pursuits.
