I was born and raised in Los Angeles and stayed close to home to attend UCLA, starting in 2015. I have been teaching both in the classroom and privately for nearly ten years, and working with kids from various backgrounds and education levels is the most rewarding part of my job. When I’m not working (and it’s not too hot), I love hiking the many trails of Los Angeles, or reading and writing if I’m staying in.

ABOUT ME
MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I have taught students from ages five to twenty-five in a variety of topics. My teaching credentials include four years as a Los Angeles Math Circle aide and lead while at UCLA, three years as a technology teacher for elementary school students, and three years preparing private students for AP tests and college-level coursework. I have also written over three thousand SAT math questions for an online testing service and have even taught a chess camp for young learners!
MY TEACHING STYLE
As a lifelong learner, I know there’s nothing better than being wrong at first, and I always encourage my students to be boldly wrong! Many students lack the confidence to risk being incorrect in the classroom, so I create a personal rapport with each of my clients that allows them to feel comfortable attempting challenges in my sessions. I have found that through these challenges most students gain the confidence and skills needed to excel come testing time. I also encourage my students to ask questions and make connections—the time I feel most useful as a tutor is when my student asks a question that will not only help them comprehend the material at hand, but lead to a deeper understanding of the subject. I consider my job as a tutor to be twofold: provide the resources needed for the student to succeed now, and stimulate the student’s curiosity for any future education.
