ABOUT ME

I’m from NY / LA (a pretty even split, which I still try to keep up!) and try to channel that combination of sunshine and bagels in my daily life. I studied at Yale, where I double majored in Theater Studies and Psychology. When I’m not teaching, I’m making films or writing songs! And I’m always accepting recommendations for great music, movies, and matcha lattes.

MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I’ve been tutoring for over a decade in NYC, LA, and beyond, helping students prepare for standardized tests (SAT/ACT, ISEE/SSAT, SHSAT, AP), apply for high school, college, and graduate school, and boost their understanding and grades in their academic courses. I love guiding students to improve their skills, gain confidence, and see results which make them super proud, and am especially fond of helping them find their voice and realize their vision for personal essays. My students have gone on to all sorts of great, highly competitive schools and universities, all across the country (and globe)!

MY TEACHING STYLE

For me, teaching is all about fostering an environment that allows students to feel comfortable and get inspired, so they can gain confidence to trust their instincts, challenge themselves, and expand into new territory with a sense of empowerment and adventure. Sometimes students need to move through anxiety, self-doubt, and stress, but once you help them do that, their world opens up — and real, lasting learning follows.
