I grew up in Michigan and went on to study at Harvard University, where I earned my degree in Sociology and developed a deep appreciation for learning across disciplines. I’ve always been drawn to work that combines curiosity, creativity, and connection, which has led me to both tutoring and a career in acting and writing. I love learning new things and, even more, helping other people discover that they are capable of understanding things they once thought were beyond them. Outside of tutoring, you can usually find me watching the latest films and TV shows, exploring food spots in Los Angeles, or planning my next trip.
ABOUT ME
MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE
I’ve been tutoring for more than 8 years, working with students from elementary school through high school. I’ve taught test prep (ACT, SAT, ISEE), mathematics, writing, admissions essays, and Spanish. Over the years, my students have gone on to their dream schools including Stanford, Duke, UChicago, and Amherst. I’ve worked with students across a wide range of academic abilities and learning styles, and I especially enjoy helping students who feel stuck or unsure of themselves. Seeing a student’s confidence grow alongside their skills is one of the most rewarding parts of teaching for me.
MY TEACHING STYLE
My goal is not simply to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand why the answer is right and feel confident getting there themselves. I try to create a relaxed, judgment-free environment where students feel comfortable saying, “I don’t understand this,” because that is often where the best learning begins. I also know that there is no single way to learn something. If one explanation doesn’t click, I’ll approach it from a different angle, break the problem into smaller pieces, or find a strategy that better fits the way that particular student thinks. And while we’re working hard, I believe learning should still be fun! I try to bring humor, creativity, and a genuine sense of curiosity to our sessions so that students stay engaged and feel like learning is something they can actually enjoy. I want my students to leave our sessions feeling not only more prepared, but more capable.
