ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Sacramento before moving to Los Angeles in 2008 to attend UCLA. During the interim period between my undergrad and graduate programs, I’ve spent much of my time traveling and have been to 48 different states. I’ve received my Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Minnesota in 2021 and currently live in Sioux Falls, SD. Even though I am currently a full-time dentist, I still have the tutoring bug 14 years later, so much so that I still continue to tutor students during my free time. During my free time that isn’t spent tutoring, I spend the rest of my time being an average golfer, a newbie kayaker, and a decent bearded dragon pet sitter.

MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have over 13 years of tutoring experience and started tutoring undergraduates while I was a student at UCLA. I was also a homeschool private school teacher in Brentwood for two years. I inspire students to perform at their fullest by embracing a positive attitude that inspires them to motivate to improve academically. I even had a student improve from a 2 to an 8 on an ISEE subsection, an official LA Tutors record.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I have a laid-back style of teaching, unless the student needs to be pushed. I like to ask a lot of open-ended questions to help him/her to become a critical thinker, which I strongly believe is a trait of successful adults. Every student is unique and I encourage my students to think outside the box to solve problems, while maintaining hold of fundamentals. I train my students to be independent thinkers and be able to make use of newfound knowledge in the real world.
