ABOUT ME

I hail from the sun-kissed landscapes of Southern California, where my upbringing was steeped in a lineage of educators. My mother, a dedicated retired elementary school teacher, instilled in me the essence of teaching from the earliest stages of my development. In fact, I spent my formative years exploring the Cal Poly Pomona campus while my grandmother devoted her time to her work there, well before I even embarked on my formal education journey. Education has remained an enduring cornerstone of my life’s narrative. When I’m not engaged in the realm of tutoring, you’ll likely find me orchestrating vibrant art classes, immersing myself in my own artistic pursuits, partaking in various athletic endeavors, delving into new crafts, or ensconced in a good book on my balcony retreat.

MY TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Over the course of my 14-year tenure in the field of education, my journey has been marked by diverse experiences and a deep commitment to fostering academic growth. In my initial six years, I served as both a short and long-term substitute teacher, working across the spectrum of K-12 education. For the subsequent eight years, I dedicated myself to the Ontario Montclair School District, where I honed my teaching prowess as a full-time instructor for 6th and 5th graders. Throughout this time, I actively engaged in professional development by participating in a multitude of training programs, including Kagan, write from the Beginning, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, and the Common Core Curriculum, among others. Furthermore, I took the lead in orchestrating academic interventions and spearheaded enriching after-school programs, reflecting my unwavering commitment to student success.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I would characterize my teaching approach as both resolute and equitable. My foremost aim is to facilitate optimal learning outcomes for every student under my guidance, recognizing that each young mind possesses the potential for academic advancement when equipped with the appropriate tools and encouragement. I take great pride in my ability to discern students’ unique strengths and deliver tailored guidance, ensuring their success in areas that warrant additional support.
