Jeff O.

I am an LA native, raised in Mar Vista. I graduated from Venice High School and U.C. Berkeley. I am a devoted father and husband. I love playing golf, skiing, riding my bike, skateboarding, playing basketball, soccer, as well as other sports.

I am currently a 3rd Grade teacher in Boyle Heights, and have been teaching elementary schools since 1999. I taught full time in South Los Angeles and have been a substitute teacher in a variety of neighborhoods from Bel Air to Westchester to East Los Angeles. I have worked with students with a variety of learning styles. I have a lot of experience with students of diverse backgrounds. I have tutored students in Language Arts and Mathematics, Grades 1 thru 8, and the ISEE. I have seen marked improvement in my classroom students as well as my tutoring students.

I believe in getting to know my students. I find their strengths and use those strengths to develop the areas in which they might have difficulty. I try to make tutoring fun by integrating humor as much as possible. I believe that learning is fun and I try to impress that attitude upon my students.
